- Maintenance of Oxford University DNS servers; management of ox.ac.uk namespace and around 300 related zones
- Address assignment and routing of IP, IPX and Appletalk; web-based delegation of management to around 200 colleges/departments
- Running of central DHCP service, used by around 6000 clients
Management of access controls on central firewall
Liaison with OxCERT security team; provision of tools to delegate identification and blocking of problem systems
Administration of GNU/Linux and Solaris servers. Software includes BIND, nsd, dhcpd, Exim, Apache, Squid, OpenSSH, PostgreSQL, ntpd, iptables, ipfilter, NLANR multicast beacon.
